Join a Life Group

The body of Christ, like all bodies, must have members that are connected in order to function as it should. LIFE Groups are where believers connect in a biblical community to study the Word of God and live out what it says together. Are you ready to take your next step at Northside Church? Need Prayer?

Prayer is essential for our personal spiritual growth and is a powerful practice. Our prayer team is privileged to lift prayer requests to our loving heavenly Father. We would love to pray for you.

Christian Outreach/Baptist Campus Church at Syracuse University

Campus minister and evangelical chaplain Devon Bartholomew and his wife Kate are the leaders of the Southern Baptists’ “Christian Outreach” campus program at Syracuse University. They lead a team of interns and student leaders who organize Christian outreach events, hold student Bible studies and discipleship groups, and present Sunday worship services. Devon also serves as pastor of the Baptist campus church that meets in Hendricks Chapel at SU.

For 10 years, the Bartholomews have been the face of Baptist Campus Ministry at SU. This summer they are joined by student interns Jessica and Leah, who are helping to organize events such as summer student picnics and “Campus Church on the Quad.” Summer may be a somewhat “slower” time on campus, but there are many students still in the community, especially grad students (often foreign) as well as students with longer term research projects. This is a time when fellowship opportunities and activities are often appreciated.

Prayer Prompts

  • For Devon and Kate (and their children Mira and Anastasia) as they continue to bring the good news of Jesus to the SU community.
  • For interns Jessica and Leah, as well as other student leaders, to be strengthened in their faith as they impact their fellow students’ lives.
  • For the Campus Church services to continue to offer true worship opportunities for the SU community.
  • For outreach to the SU staff and faculty.
  • For financial support to allow the interns to increase their ministry on campus.

Give

Thank you for your generosity. Through your faithful giving, God uses our church to impact many people in our local community and around the world.
