Episode 83 - Where Is Our Hope When the Darkness Hits?

What Did He Mean by That?

🎙 Episode Title: Where Is Our Hope When the Darkness Hits?

📅 Release Date: December 25th, 2025

🎧 Host(s): Dr. Christopher Cali, Pastor Chris Heimerle, Ashley Cali, and Robby Mckinney.

Episode Summary:

In this episode of What Did He Mean By That?, we reflect on the weekend message at Northside Church, focusing on how God’s promises break through darkness. Using the imagery of the rainbow, Advent prophecy, and the titles of Christ, the conversation explores how grace is often most visible in difficult moments. The discussion moves from theology to everyday life, touching on the humanity of Jesus, the sufficiency of Scripture, faith in uncertain times, church unity amid disagreement, and where people place their hope when stability feels shaken. The episode also looks at Christ as the Prince of Peace, the nature of His kingdom, and how believers experience His rule and reign both now and in the future.

Key Discussion Points:

  • Why do we often recognize God’s grace more clearly during hardship than during comfort?
  • Why is it important to remember that Jesus was fully human as well as fully divine?
  • What does it mean that our hope is found in a person, not in circumstances or systems?

Takeaways:

  1. God’s grace is often most visible when life feels darkest.
  2. Hope is not found in circumstances, systems, or success, but in Jesus Himself.
  3. Jesus understands human suffering because He fully entered it without sin.
  4. Scripture is sufficient to guide faith, life, and obedience today.
