With the support of Convoy of Hope and many generous partners, we were able to offer food and fun, and bless local families with school supplies, haircuts, new shoes, groceries, family photos, and so much more.
There truly was something for everyone. Kids laughed and played in the bounce houses and activity zones. Students brought great energy to the basketball tournament. Parents had time to connect with helpful community resources and local service providers. Volunteers served meals, packed backpacks, played with kids, distributed groceries and school supplies, offered haircuts, took family photos, and greeted every guest with open arms. Each person gave their time and energy to create a space that celebrated the season ahead and left lasting memories.
For many families, this event came at just the right moment. The start of a new school year can bring a mix of excitement and stress. Being able to offer practical help and a sense of peace in the middle of it all was a true gift. Guests left with full hands and full hearts. Some paused for prayer. Others shared their stories or found a new connection. These quiet moments were just as meaningful as everything else happening throughout the day.

Bringing something like this to life takes a lot of work. It would not have been possible without the time, energy, and love poured out by so many. From the earliest planning conversations to the final cleanup, every detail was organized with care. Each person who served played a meaningful part in something far greater than themselves.
We are deeply grateful for every partner, every prayer, every gift, and every volunteer who helped make this day what it was. Hope Encounter was a simple act of love that made the back-to-school season feel a little lighter and a lot more joyful for many families in our community. This was never just about a single event. It was a picture of the Church living out its purpose with grace and joy.
Northside exists to bring people to Jesus and learn to follow Him together. On this day, that mission came to life in the most tangible way. Families were cared for. New relationships began. Lives in the Syracuse area were impacted, and the ripple effect will continue to grow long after the tents come down.
If you were part of Hope Encounter this year, thank you for making it so special. If you missed it and want to learn more about how to serve, give, or stay connected with family-focused events and community outreach efforts near Syracuse, we’d love to help you take your next step.
