How Can I Help Families This Holiday Season?

a hand reaching out to the side
As the season of giving begins, Christmas calls us to reflect on the heart of our faith and share the spirit of kindness. This time of year, there’s a natural urge to help and uplift those around us. At Northside, we’re excited to offer many ways to get involved through community events, giving opportunities, or volunteering. Join us as we come together to help families this holiday season!

Thanksgiving Food Drive

November 9th – November 24th

Everyone deserves to enjoy a warm meal on Thanksgiving, and we’re coming together to make it happen! From November 9th to the 24th, we’ll be collecting food items to fill 100 Thanksgiving boxes for families in our community. With your support, we can bring the love of Christ to those in need through a meal shared and a reminder that they’re cared for.

To donate, please drop off non-perishable goods to Northside Church

Adopt a Family in Ukraine

November 11th – Ongoing

We’re blessed to have built connections with 30 Ukrainian families who need support and encouragement during this challenging time. Through a strategic partnership, our Northside families can commit to praying for these families, sending birthday and Christmas cards, and providing a care package of essentials. Each of these acts builds a bridge of friendship and faith, reminding our Ukrainian friends that they are not alone.

Many of these families have been impacted directly by the ongoing war, with some having lost their homes or been forced to relocate. We’ve put together a list of much-needed items that can be sent as care packages to bring some comfort and hope. Together, let’s reach out to show Christ’s love in tangible ways to those who need it most.

To get involved with this opportunity, please contact Northside Church!

Christmas Toy Drive

December 8th – December 22nd

Once again, Northside is partnering with The Salvation Army to bring Christmas joy to children in need. Trees decorated with children’s names will be available in our church, allowing you to add a child to your Christmas shopping list. Together, we aim to bless approximately 250 local kids with gifts, making this season brighter for families in our community.

To donate to our Christmas Toy Drive, visit Northside Church and choose a child’s ornament from our giving tree.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

December 1st – December 25th

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is a powerful annual tradition among Southern Baptists, dedicated to supporting international missions. Named in 1918 by the Woman’s Missionary Union after a devoted missionary to China, Lottie Moon encouraged churches to give generously to this cause. By giving to the Lottie Moon offering, you join millions of believers committed to advancing God’s Kingdom worldwide.

When you contribute today, you’re making a profound impact. Every dollar you give goes directly to the mission field, freeing missionaries from the need to fundraise so they can stay focused on their work full-time. Your gift also supports extensive cross-cultural training and comprehensive assistance for missionaries as they spread the gospel. Through this offering, you’re bringing life-saving medical supplies, clean water, and the message of Jesus to thousands.

A gift of any amount will ensure that those who have yet to hear the name of Jesus can experience His love and come to know Him. To donate to Lottie Moon, click here.

Your Gift is Valued

No matter how you choose to give this season, your generosity is truly valued and makes a difference. If giving financially isn’t possible right now, consider other meaningful ways to support our community. You might volunteer at the Samaritan Center, or even check in on an elderly neighbor to make sure they’re ready for winter—small acts of kindness can go a long way. There is plenty of volunteer work, charities, and community service opportunities available in the Syracuse area.

If you or a family member could use some extra support this holiday season, please reach out to us. We’re here to help!
