Sports are a great way for children to learn about teamwork, respect for authority and sportsmanship. The sad part is all those things are being lost in today’s sporting society. With an Upward sport, these key essentials are included to create the best sporting experience for every child that participates. Each Upward Sport is designed to reveal the winner in every child.  Every child plays. Every child learns. Every child IS a Winner!

By providing an evaluation system that promotes equal teams and opportunities, establishing a one-hour practice and game each week, implementing a substitution system for each team, allowing every child equal playing time and creating the opportunity for every child to learn the skills of the game the emphasis is placed on having fun and good sportsmanship, not the scoreboard and standings.
Northside Baptist is excited to offer Upward Basketball and Cheerleading to K5 through sixth grade boys and girls.

Our League runs from January through March of 2009. Look for sign-ups to begin in September with team evaluations Dec. 6 and 13th. You can expect one practice each week that will last about an hour followed by game day each Saturday. Practices will begin the week of Jan. 13th, 2009 with games beginning January 31st. The cost per player or cheerleader is $55 which includes game jersey. T-shirt, winner magazine, scripture learning tool, car magnet, parent’s guide and end of the year award. Scholarships are available.
