Everything
we do at Northside emphasizes outreach and
evangelism. Some
time ago, however, we voted to adopt
FAITH Sunday School Evangelism
Strategy as our intentional
outreach ministry. It's not that
we believe that this is the
only way, or even that it's necessarily
the best way, but we
agreed that evangelism outreach must be
intentional and
ongoing. FAITH is both.
FAITH is a training
course that partners evangelism with Sunday
School in order to make evangelism a lifestyle
in the church. Training is divided into two
16 week semesters annually. FAITH began nearly
20 years ago at First
Baptist Church Daytona under the leadership of their former pastor, Dr.
Bobby Welch. Learners begin with a basic
course that teaches the FAITH visit outline
and offers opportunities to minister in real
world settings. There is also a course for
team leadership and several discipleship
courses.
Courses include:
FAITH Basic
This is the starting point for everyone. Learners
are guided through 16 weeks of lifestyle
evangelism training through class instruction,
mentoring and visitation experience. The
FAITH visit outline must be memorized, along
with some scripture. This simple outline
is an effective way for anyone to share their
faith in a very clear and understandable
way. A workbook is provided, along with
other necessary materials.
FAITH Advanced - Building Bridges Through
FAITH
The next step in the Journey of
FAITH is FAITH Advanced. This course is designed
to teach individuals how to effectively lead
a FAITH team through a semester of training. Although
it is not required that you lead a team while
taking this course, it is encouraged. FAITH
grows as people re-enlist and agree to lead
a team. For every person who serves as a
team leader, 2 more can be trained to share
the gospel.
Student FAITH
Students in grades 9 thru 12 can participate
in Student FAITH. The material that they learn
is identical to adult FAITH, but geared towards
teens. FAITH Basic and Advanced are available.
Each semester, we try
to offer a different FAITH Discipleship course.
Here's what's available.
Sharing a Living Faith
Training focuses on developing a
clear understanding of basic Christian truths
and daily life witness for Christ. Learners
are taught to handle difficult questions
in a visit setting and improve their skills
as a team leader.
FAITH at Work in Your Relationships

witnessing relationships with lost people who
may not initially be open to hearing the gospel.
Also learn to take advantage of opportunities
to witness in everyday life.

Scripture to refute cult teachings and

who are lost, even though they may be deeply
religious. Examine the claims of several world
religions and formulate a biblical response

relationship with God. Also learn to pray
more effectively for the lost.
